Meet Darah Spittle

Darah is a 37-year-old mother of 2, recently engaged. In October 2021, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 HER2+ Breast Cancer. She had 6 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and has since had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, all while undergoing radiation. Your donation will allow us to create a haven for her.

I’m Darah Spittle and I am a 37-year-old Idaho native. I have two amazing children, Luke 17, and Kelsey 15.

I have recently gotten engaged to a wonderful man, Dustin, and we’ve just purchased our first home. We enjoy being active by going to the gym, skiing, or biking in our beautiful Idaho mountains.

I have worked in the service industry for 12 years and now manage a restaurant in downtown Boise. I have always loved people and the energy in the restaurant industry.

In October of 2021, I found an abnormal lump in my left breast. It was diagnosed as stage 3 breast cancer and was HER2+. I underwent 6 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and have since had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, all while undergoing radiation.

I have been fortunate to have an incredible support system from my family, friends, and colleagues. The cancer journey is neither short nor easy. With each step comes another part of your life that becomes one’s new normal.

I am beyond thankful to have been nominated to receive such a beautiful gift of a bedroom makeover, where I’ll be given the chance to create my perfect bedroom to rest and heal in.”
