At just five days old, Liam was diagnosed with SCID, also known as severe combined immune deficiency. During that time, between five days old and 2 months old, Liam underwent chemotherapy, steroids, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. Since then, Liam has been in the fight for his life, with the bone marrow transplant, the effects of chemotherapy and much more. Liam has endured so many different illnesses and diagnosis since then. He has had reconstructive surgery on both of legs and his lymphatic system. Liam is dependent on a feeding tube also known as a G-tube for several hours a day seven days a week.
Liam‘s immune system is still compromised and he fights severe blood and bone infections frequently. Because of this, he is in and out of the hospital monthly. Liam also suffers from severe anxiety due to medical trauma and has a therapy Pug dog named Lulu. He is almost 11 years old and still is fighting. He had his second surgery reconstructive leg surgery in January and now is dealing with so much chronic pain and fatigue. We are working towards a better quality of life for him. Liam deserves his “happy place” so so much; to provide comfort, healing, & joy
